macOS 0.1.36

August 2026

  • Attach common document formats such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint — including by dragging them into the window.
  • Local models start more reliably and answer follow-up questions noticeably faster.
  • A tidier composer with grouped tools, plus a choice of aspect ratio for generated images.
  • Chats run more reliably: Stop takes effect at once, drafts survive switching between chats, and long conversations keep their thread.

  • A reworked chat history with more reliable search, tidier actions under each answer, and steadier subscription and account recovery.

  • A fresh look for the app icon, sign-in and quick start, plus true black on OLED displays. Your own messages can be edited and sent again.
  • A new hands-free voice mode with local voices, and voice input now runs entirely on your device. Read-aloud lets you pick the voice — and the app starts in your device language.

  • The Mac app now updates itself. A sidebar switch moves between local and cloud processing, “Sign in with Apple” returns straight to the app, and attachments work with local models too.

iOS & iPadOS 1.01.06

  • A fresh look for the app icon, sign-in and subscription screens. Messages can be edited afterwards, and the iPad gains a collapsible sidebar.
  • The new voice mode runs entirely on your device: talk and listen without an internet connection. Local models run more reliably and now understand images.

  • MATE arrives on Android too — with private chat, web search with sources, image generation, local models for offline use, attachments with text recognition, a translator, a task planner and your own custom Mates. Plus 37 languages, app lock with PIN or biometrics, and a home-screen quick-actions widget.

  • MATE for Mac arrives: a download for Macs with Apple silicon, including image generation that runs entirely on the device.

  • MATE launches on the App Store: a private AI chat whose history stays only on your device, with processing in Switzerland. There from day one: downloadable local models for chats without any internet, web search with sources, image generation, photo and document attachments, and your own custom Mates — plus Siri Shortcuts.
